PNWD Youth and Adult Chaplain Training
High School Youth (age 14-19) and adults in youth ministry are welcome to attend this Chaplain Training at Westside UU Congregation in Seattle. Learn active listening skills, what it means to be a mandatory reporter and how to care for those in our congregations who are suffering without trying to fix any problems.
Congregations are strongly encouraged to send a team of youth and adults who can return to serve as a liaisons between the youth group and the minister to help with basic pastoral care of our young people.
Adults attending the training must be at least 25 years old. They will stay with the youth overnight at the host church, and will serve as sponsors for the youth overnight.

Thandeka is a profound UU theologian and an extraordinary speaker and educator. Our time with her at our 2014 District Assembly will be highly interactive and deeply worshipful, with powerful take-aways for UU leaders.
The PNWD business meeting will be held, but no other workshops will be scheduled. Thandeka's program will span the entire weekend, integrating music, video and lively exploration in large and small groups.
Thandeka will also lead a joint professional development day for UUMA & LREDA chapter members prior to District Assembly, focusing on faith development, congregational life and spiritual practice for religious professionals.
UU Youth will participate in Full Community during District Assembly, and enjoy youth community during overnights on Friday and Saturday at the UU Church of Spokane.
