PNWD People: Program Contacts
The following program volunteers, training teams and special consultants assist district staff in implementing district programs and congregational services. Most are appointed by the District Executive or Program Specialist and serve open-ended terms. The Annual Program Fund Chair, Compensation Consultant, and UUA Ministerial Settlement Representative are cooperative appointments with the UUA, and these positions have specific terms of service.
| Addictions Ministry Project | Provides education and resources to Unitarian Universalist congregations to help them support individuals and families affected by addictions.

| Annual Program Fund | Facilitates the collection of UUA Annual Program Fund and PNWD dues from all member congregations. |

| Bylaws Committee | An ad hoc committee appointed by the board to review the bylaws and recommend changes. Appointed by and accountable to the district board. |

| Chalice Lighter Program | Receives Chalice Lighter proposals for consideration, counsels applicants, and selects grantees. Representatives are available at no charge to speak to congregations about the Chalice Lighters program, which allows individual UUs to support the growth and vitality of congregations throughout the district. | Compensation Consultant | Provides information, advice and encouragement to congregations to bring their compensation levels up to UUA recommendations. The Compensation Consultant is available at no charge to speak to congregations about fair compensation for clergy and church staff. Peter Henrickson |

| Healthy Congregations Team | Provides training, consultation and assessment for congregations who wish to embrace healthy communications and proactively deal with conflict. | Leadership Councils | Leadership Councils may be convened by the PNWD Board of Directors or district staff from time to time, to discuss and advise on district goals and priorities. Such ad hoc councils may consist of congregational representatives (e.g., board presidents and other lay leaders, ministers, religious professionals), district volunteers, area councils or representatives from Associate Member Organizations. Delegates elected by congregations to represent them at the PNWD Annual General Meeting (AGM) will also be convened as a de facto Leadership Council annually at AGM. |

| Ministerial Settlement Representatives | Work with congregations in considering potential UU ministerial candidates, negotiating with their candidate and settling or contracting their new minister. | Ministerial Transition Team | Facilitates congregational/ministerial transitions, interviews and covenants for congregations with new ministers, departing ministers, and ministers or religious educators planning or returning from sabbatical. These services sometimes require cost-sharing by congregations. Congregations in extreme financial circumstances may have all or part of the fees waived to ensure that consultation services are available. Contact the district office. | New Congregations | Contact the district office for information on forming a new congregation or affiliating with the UUA. |

| Nominating Committee | Periodically assesses membership distribution, presents a ballot of one or more nominees for each district-level vacancy, compiles and maintains a list of potential candidates for leadership positions in the PNWD. Elected by delegates to the district Annual General Meeting and accountable to member congregations. |

| Religious Education Consultants | Provide training, consultation and assessment for congregations who wish to grow lively religious education programs. Consultants are trained and professionally experienced in areas of program development, teacher training, safety and curricula. Typically there is a fee for this service, as it requires extended professional time. | Safe Congregations Consultant | Serves congregations, on request, who are confronted with abusive or sexual harassment behaviors. Provides educational resources on appropriate boundaries and behaviors, training and prevention. There is no charge for phone or email consultation. Barbara Cornell |

| Small Congregations Consultants | If your congregation is under 200 members, particularly if you have no minister, volunteers are available at no charge for phone, email and occasional on-site consultation. They are ready to help whenever a congregation needs a quick answer or help identifying specific resources for a wide range of situations that are common in UU congregations. |

| Worship Coordinators Network | Worship coordinators in UU congregations throughout the Puget Sound area meet quarterly to swap ideas and best practices. If you’re interested in participating or would like gleaned ideas sent to you, contact the convener, below. | Young Adult / Campus Ministry Programming | Supports young adult needs assessment and young adult leadership development. Networks existing young adult programs and promotes best practices. | Youth Empowerment Services (YES!) | Promotes, affirms and implements the principles of our faith through spiritual programs and youth programs, in order to promote and secure the growth and development of youth (ages 14-20) in each congregation and throughout the Association.
